It's in Brantford but Beattie animal hospital is the cheapest around and the best I've seen. They are also 24hrs.

Ive changed vets 3 times now for various reasons. Ive noticed in april/may, they all advertise heartworm month, so it is supposed to be a bit cheaper to get it done then. I pay $20 per treatment based on 90lb dog. Weather or not thats a good price, I dont know, but Im running out of vets. LOL
Ive gone to binbrook for 2 years now, I like them, but the vet retired and I hope his replacement is just as caring as he was.

Also for heartworm you can get ivermec for $14 at TSC an give it to them once a month (for dogs) vets don't recommend it because theyd rather charge you $100 for 6 months worth of some fancy brand name that is the exact same drug.

Do not use Ivermec bought in bulk unless you know what you are doing and the exact dosage, the side effects of overdosing can be fatal, it is an ingredient of Heartguard but not the only one and since it is an 'off label' use of pure Ivermec (heartworm drugs use Ivermectin) if your animal gets sick from it you have no recourse where heartworm treatments come with a guarantee

With my line of work I am constantly looking for reasonable vet clinics and the best one I've found in Hamilton is East Mountain Animal Hospital. It is a fairly new clinic, here is their contact info; 1175 Stone Church Rd. E., Hamilton, ON, L8W 2C6 Phone: (905) 389-0707 Fax: (905) 389-0708. Their prices are comparable to Beattie in Brantford but local - so no gas costs.
