I saw someone shoplifting once... so I went looking for security and I couldn't find anyone. There wasn't even anyone at the customer service desk. I walked back to the area, and I didn't see the shoplifter after that.

Another time I saw someone pick up a huge bundle of things and then go straight to the returns section. She returned the items that she picked up and got cash! I told one of the people at the returns desk and they didn't do anything.

I've never actually seen somebody shoplift from a store I was shopping in, but I use to catch shoplifters all the time when I managed stores for Radio Shack!

what about at Rogers? There isn't much to steal i guess since cell phones are attached to the shelves.

Never personally seen anyone shop lift

Actually for some reason people steal the dummy phones all the time! Theft of real phones does happen, but not all that often.

Someone stole over $200 worth of groceries from Sobeys one night I was working... they just BARELY got caught.
Why should I stay? Why should I go? I'm no longer on here. I might ghost in once in a while. But don't bother talking to me, I'm not to stay. Sorry.

My youngest DD just did this, she picked up a little toy at Shoppers jsut before easter. I did not catch her till later, I made her take it back and say that she was sorry to the manager. Boy was I mad. The lady was surprised that I made her bring it back.

My daughter stole a chocolate bar when she was 3yrs old, I couldnt take the bar back because I didnt notice she had it until she was covered in chocolate (it was a big bar). I went back to the store and offered to pay. The manager was nice about it and said it was ok and that was it.

I have seen shoplifters and I have tried to intercept a shoplifter while working at safeway. When working at safeway, I asked this guy to come with me to the managers office. He refused and shoved me into the shelving. He pissed me off so I whipped a can at him in hopes to stop him. I managed to hit him in the head and it slowed him down enough for another employee to tackle him. I got yelled at by my boss for trying to be a super hero. I never stopped a shoplifter from there ever again.

Another time I was working for this internet pharmacy which was located on the 4th floor of a mall. While peering out the window I noticed two people ripping off this small sunglass hut. Nothing I could do about it at the time since yanno you cant yell through triple pane glass. So I went and spoke to the owner after work. She basically told me the glasses are about $2/pair and doesnt care who steals from her. So whatever, I tried.

Two guys came into my store and just started filling their arms with stuff. They were loud and talking with each other so I thought they were just in a good mood.
The one came to the counter and pitched one item at me while the other guy was near the door (looking like he was going to get in line) then after the one guy tossed the item at me he said loudly, "How much is that" as he was backing up.
They both laugh and bolted out the door and into a waiting SUV.
The funny thing is the SUV looked brand new. So they couldn't afford junk food and car payments?
    Idiots.

Another time I had a.. hmm what's politically correct these days... mentally handicapped?
Whatever... he came in and said hi to me and walked over to a display of candy bars.
He grabbed two and bolted out the door.
He knew he was doing wrong. Me and another customer cornered him and dragged him back inside. The customer bought him his chocolate bar he ate and I bought him another one to much on after.
The problem was he escaped his housing place. He was hungry and lost.
I ended up finding his caregivers after a while.

When I was younger I worked for Levis. Well we had this really nice leather jacket worth about $500 that was about to be sent back to the warehouse. This guy comes in and says he wants it, but that his mom was going to pay for it so they would be back in later. The manager said he'd have to put a deposit on it since it was to be sent back, so he left a cheque for $50. Well about 4 hours later sure enough the guy came in, said he was waiting for his mom and asked if he could try it on. So someone unlocked the jacket & as soon as he put it on he bolted out the door. Well the funny thing is that it turned out that the cheque the guy left for the deposit had his real name, address & even phone # on it. The police simply went over and got the jacket & had a long talk with his parents!

well i wouldn't say shoplifting but on some occasions when i return something and use a coupon with it, the cashier seems to always give me back the money I paid plus the coupon amount! I dont' usually check the receipt until after I get out so I dont' even bother going back..
