no longer a coupon virgin

I have never used coupons before today. I heard about how much you can save and thought if I was going to do it I would do it right. I started rounding up every coupon I could find over the past few days. I price matched all of my local flyers and circled the best prices. When I made my shopping list I wrote every item in blue and if it was cheaper at another store I wrote the stores name in red beside it with the price.

Driving to the grocery store I was actually nervous but excited too. I didn't know how it was going to go but worst case scenario was I would pay full price. The first thing on my list was my freebie gillette stuff for my hubby and some old spice BOGO's and of course they were all out of the old spice. The baby started to fuss and I wondered what I was getting myself into. Aside from a very leaky jug of milk the rest of the shop went quite well but I had been dreading the checkout. The cashier was so sweet and she was a mass coupon virgin too so she said it was a big day for both of us. I handed her the list with the flyers and we unloaded the cart store by store and then we put in all of the coupons. I was standing there for about 45 minutes and when all was said and don I had saved $70! That is $70 I would have just handed the store without thinking about it last month. I just couldn't believe it. I know for some of you old pros it may not seem like much but you can bet that I will be doing this forever!
