Hello Everyone !!
Hey everyone...I've been lurking for a few weeks after googling "Canadian coupons"
I saw the Krazy Coupon Ladies on Nate Berkus and was intriuged to give it a try. I started collecting coupons after finding 's blog....then I saw a clip of Extreme Couponing. It was then and there that I made rules for myself as to how I was going to approach couponing. I want to build up a stockpile that can be hidden behind doors and stored in the appropriate rooms (my stuff in my bathroom, kids stuff in kid's bathroom etc.) I've assured my husband that we will never own 200 boxes of cereal because the initial notion of stockpiling scared the bejezus out him.
After a few weeks, I haven't seen my grocery bill go down, but it is clear that for the same amount of dollars, my "inventory" has gone up.
When it comes to assessing how I did, I don't like to use the phrase "I saved". I prefer "I avoided spending"
So far the best shopping trip was this past Wednesday at SDM.
If I had paid full price for all my items, before taxes the cost would have been $73.51. All the things I purchased were on sale at a total cost (before tax) of $49.91. After using coupons, my subtotal was $20.92.
My husband was quite pleased !!
I am a SAHM to an almost 10 y/o girl and 6 y/o boy. I am also a part time student studying Interior Decorating.
And for those that don't know, my avatar is Steve Burton from General Hospital...that man is a perfect specimen.<!-- GAL -->
