METRO points card

You actually have to sign up in the month on January. They give you a little card and you put money on it until the end of november. You can choose what ever ammount you want to put on it but must never miss a week or you don't get the 50th week for free.

I like the program because by putting 5$ a week it gives me a nice 250$ card for my christmass food shopping.. It's available at all Quebec Metro I don't know about other provinces.

I'm not sure if you can still sign up for it. you might want to contact Metro and see..

How is that different than putting the $5 in a savings account? Except they're forcing you to put it every single week, to save $5 at the end...

Maybe I'm understanding it wrong, but that doesn't seem like a good deal to me?

As far as I know, they have Metro points because they dont' accept airmiles at their stores.

I prefer Airmiles

right....we have Airmiles at IGA , Jean Coutu, Rona, Reno-Depot...etc

Yep ...and IGA never has promotions anymore... Jean Coutu usually only has promotions on rediculously expensive makeup/perfume items... Rona and Reno Depot are great for airmiles, but only if you're doing large products and spending a lot of money...

You are totally right. It's not different from puttig 5$ a week in a savings account at all.

I think it's a good thing to do. I go to Metro everyweek anyway and at the same time i put 5$ on my card while using my coupons. I don't have to open up a savings and don't have to manage it, it manages it self.

Not everybody thinks its a good thing of course. But I like it ..To each his own
