I'm not sure if you have participating metro store in Ontario... At least the FAQ said you could join but only use in participating stores.
- Can I join metro&moi even if I don’t live in Quebec province?
Yes, those 18 or older who wish to join may do so. They can fill out an application on-line at www.metro.ca. They will get their card in the mail. However, the metro&moi card can be used only in participating stores.

From the FAQ:
- Can points be accumulated in Ontario Metro stores?
The metro&moi reward program is available only in Québec.

Why DON'T we have this sort of thing in Ontario? Especially since Metro is really one of the higher end grocery stores? We're already paying more for grocery shopping there, you'd think they'd make it a bit easier to rationalize shopping there over, say, a Freshco or No Frills!

As far as I know, they have Metro points because they dont' accept airmiles at their stores.
I prefer Airmiles

yup, this is why they start the metro and me program.
Here we have airmiles at IGA and Jean coutu... And they didn't give as many points as your store, no big deals with airmiles here (if we are lucky we have 5 bonus airmiles on items that cost at least 5$, and often 7$ and more... )
and we can't order GC for IGA/sobeys with our airmilesLiberty of one finish where liberty of the other one start

I like the metro and moi program. Everypoint counts for a cent. I just got a GC for 10$. Plus they also have another program for x'mass basket.
I put 5$ a week for 49 weeks on this program and the last week (the 50th) is paid by Metro. At x'mass I get a 250.00$ GC.. I like this program because it's a bonus. Because of the coupons I use in their store that 250$ card costs me nothing because I use a minimum of 10$ of coupons per week. SO my coupons actually pay for my X'mass GC.
