I went into Staples to get the loose-leaf lined paper that is cheap this week and then I went to Target and Walmart to get some other things. The paper that is 10c a pack in Walmart and Staples has 150 sheets, the paper for the same price in Target has 200 sheets.

Use your Target card and get another 5% off.

Then I learned something new that I did not know from living in BC for 10 years. If you are buying supplies for school, they are PST exempt, in Staples they can take the tax off at the till. Not all things are included - pens, paper, pencils and crayons are; scissors are not. They have a list by each till.

I also learned that Staples do not do scop - I was overcharged for a box that should have been $6. They adjusted the price but wouldn't scop.

Thanks for this thread. You are right -- you have to check the package for the price.
Nice that BC gives a break on the tax.
In some US States, they have no tax for back to school time -- about 3 days in August is No Tax.

I don't think we get a break on taxes.
Only if it's not tax day at the store

School supplies have been PST exempt in BC for decades. Basic school supplies have always been considered a necessity in British Columbia. It's nice that there are a few goodwill gestures left from our provincial government.
    So many coupons....so little time!

That is what I was told in Staples, but in all my times I have been there no one has ever told me this before.
