I posted the same question in the:
Discuss and Request Deals and Coupons
I was discouraged at first as well, and after some searching I realized the following things:
- The coupons many refer to here have been out (and gone) for a while. I think after a month or more of couponing you will end up with many via trading or diligent searching.
- For me Walmart, Zellers, RCSS and No Frills were complete duds. On the other hand Metro, SDM, Food Basics were all very good.
- Be diligent about your searching, look through every aisle. Some of the ones I found had fallen off their hook and were placed on top of the product.
Many people in the trading section offer coupons (tear pad included) for a few unused stamps.Kate

I usually have luck finding them at Save on Foods, Price Mart, and Safeway, sometimes at IGA.

I've had the most luck at Safeway, Shoppers and Price Mart/Save On. I'm in BC though, not sure how those ones are back east. I'm new too and have accumulated quite a pile of coupons in just a couple of weeks.
Good luck and keep hunting!

I find Shoppers and London Drugs to be the places I have found tear pad coupons. Walmart very rarely has them. Did you know that they sell coupons on Ebay. Tear pad coupons, whole Smart Source, PG and Red Plum inserts. It's no wonder there is no tear pad coupons left ....people take the whole thing to sell them on Ebay

Shoppers and Metro seem to have the most around here. I've noticed that when popular coupons are gone from the bigger and busier stores, I can still find some at the smaller not so busy stores.

Try store in city with more people... weird advice, but I'm living in campain and the 2 grocery stores in my small town have not alot of coupons at all (just few smartsource one sometime)... So I drive to go at a biggest city with more grocery/pharmacy store... I try several of them when I start couponing and I found the "hot spot" for coupon hunting.
Also try to find grocery store having stand (around 3 in all the store) for rep and demo... If the store have the stand, they have rep/demo more regularly and more coupons in store (often rep/demo let the coupon in store at the end of the day).
Some stores have more tear pad thursday, friday and saturday because more people come to do grocery shopping (at least at the store where I go, the smartsource rep make sure the tear pad are full on that days ).
Other tip, try to know when smartsource rep go at your store to put the tear pad. Those rep will remove and change the tear pad at some moment... So be sure you have enought coupons for your family's need (look the expiry date and evaluate the quantity of the product you are able to buy for that period of time). This would not mean to take all the tear pad. But you could plan more than one visit at your grocery store or do like me and have a run at differents grocery store for your grocery shopping (I go to 6 or 7 stores at friday night). This way you grab 1, 2 or 3 coupons at each place.Liberty of one finish where liberty of the other one start
