Being courteous on this forum

I've noticed a number of posts lately from newbies and more experianced members that have come off sounding quite rude. Recently a mod needed to post to a thread because some of the comments were getting out of hand.
People need to look at what they write before they submit. I know that many of us write the way we speak. When someone can't hear your tone or see your facial expressions it is all the more importantant to come across politely.
If a post is in the wrong section or it's inappropriate you need to use the report button.
Remember 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'.

I disagree when it comes to holding back on saying anything negative, depending on the topic (Aren't unbrags negative?). There are proper ways of giving your opinion (ie. Complete logical explanations, no targets on members here, respectful use of words, etc). This is a forum after all, a place to share information and voice opinions.

most times the smileys do work, there is the odd post where they don't work for lightening the mood though.. when someone uses MANY CAPITALS or an over abundance of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then the smileys do nothing to make the post sound happy and friendly.. i completely agree with caroman - if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all

and if you find a post you feel is very questionable or shouldn't belong on this forum feel free to report it to mods.. on every post/reply made there is three little icons near the bottom of the post one is a dot (says if a user is on at the moemnt) one is a set of scales (to give reps) and one is a red/white/black triangle used to report a post
