So my church is having a bake sale next Sunday, and I was asked to bring Rice Krispies Squares. I'd like to make them with the holiday Rice Krispie cereal, but can't seem to find them anywhere. I've looked at Zellers, Walmart, SDM and Sobeys, but still haven't found them. Has anyone seen them in the stores? Much thanks in advance.

Saw them at Sobey's on the weekend - I bought them and made squares today. There are $5 in coupons for chocolate(Turtles, After Eight and Smarties are those I remember..) on the back of the box.

Thank you very much. Can I just ask how many squares did you make, and how much cereal you have left? I'm trying to figure out if it's cost effective to buy the cereal and make them, or just buy the ready made ones. If one $4 box only makes 12, then it's not really worth it, because WM has a box of 16 the ready made ones for $4. If I were to make them, I'd have to buy marshmallows, butter and vanilla.

I made a 9x12 pan(6 cups of rice krispies), I think that was about 2/3 of the box. Same with the marshmallows, you use 40 of them (about half of a big bag), so with a little shuffling of ingredients, depending on how thick you like your squares, you could be able to get two batches of squares made.
