Very Very Very cool. I was in Save-on tonight and found a sheet at the front that mentioned the things the food bank most needs. Hell, I've been thinking about buying those new Campbell's soups because every can you buy means one is donated. I don't even eat soup but I thought that I could buy a few cans and donate them to the food bank so say I bought 10 cans. That means I'd be donating 20 in total. How cool is that?
I think I'm definitely going to do that when I have some spare money and hopefully the coupons to reduce the cost rather dramatically. Either that or do it in stages.
Great good deed.
Great idea. You have inspired me to do the same.
great donation, I'm sure they will really appreciate it:)
very nice of you :)
pssst: don't forget the upc
That's a great idea to use it to give to the food bank! I was looking of a way of taking advantage of this rebate, but I didn't want to bring junk food in the house, and I can't eat oat products.
that's so nice of you :)
i always drop it off at the place i want to donate, not sure i trust that the stores aren't just selling it again
:lolsign: That would be a public relations nightmare if that ever leaked!
But I know several people who work at super markets and yes they empty the container several times a day and a volunteer comes to pick it up.
Thanks everyone, I hadn't donated to the FB in a while because they have very restricted hours they are open. I donated a lot at Christmas because all of my children activities seem to have FB drives. And I had just taken advantage of the $25 mIR deal and was totally stocked up on instant oatmeal too (I try and avoid junk food too, and do as much as possible, but my teens are thrilled when it does come home:rolleyes:).
So it wasn't premeditated, just a sudden realization off how much oatmeal can I stock?? :lolsign:
And if some of you are drowning in Oatmeal or can't eat it, you can do it too.
And like many have pointed out, if everyone does a little bit it adds up to a TON!
Great idea!!! They will appreciate it, I'm sure! :top:
Great brag! :)
Great idea!
I got a ton of oatmeal with the last promo and thought I would do the pancake mix and syrup for this one-apparently our foodbank rarely gets syrup-I'm even attaching a recipe for pancakes to the bottle! I bring mine home though as our church likes to weigh the donations...and I have put out a plea for inserts from the congregation-perhaps if they can see how much I can get for how little, they would remember to bring them in!
I'm just waiting to hear who else will mail in a rebate for me!
PS, re the UPC codes, my receipts from RCSS and NoFrills now have them printed right on there.
