So today I went to mow my lawn for the first time this year

The grass was almost upto my knees
So I put new gas in the lawn mower & tried to start it several times ..I was trying for almost 1 hr
..it just wouldn't start
.. I tried several things ..cleaning it , twisting it , turning it , tightening things , loosening things pressing the primer button on the mower for a cold start ..but nothing was working
So finally I thought there goes my lawn mower ..I've had it for the past 11 years & its been good to me
..I will finally have to buy a new one & spend arounf 200 bucks for a decent one
Then it dawned upon me maybe I should change the lawn mower engine oil ..people change there car oil all the time but never bother to change their lawn mower oil .
So I just changed the lawn mower oil after draining it ..the old oil was dark black it had not been changed in ages
..the new oil I put in just costs around 5 bucks @ CT , Home Depot etc .. its a small bottle specifically for lawn mowers .
Guess what the lawn mower now runs extremely smoothly
..its almost as good as new .
Now I am planning to change the oil every season
So please change the oil in your lawn mower every year to prolong its life

So glad it only needed an oil change! $5 is much better than $200
