How do you do it?

I have read, in admiration, your purchasing prowess.
My question is: how does one, during a single transaction, purchase "x" numbers of the same item and you have "x" number of coupons.
Example: Ziploc buy 2 save $4.
At my Walmart, I had to make 2 separate purchases for a total of 4 boxes of Ziploc bags. I was allowed to use one coupon at a time rather than use 2 coupons for 4 boxes during the same transaction. Some SCers have the skill to make purchases of 10 and use 10 coupons during a single transcation. I seek your wisdom and advice...

I think it depends on how the cashier/store interprets "one per purchase". It can be confusing...some stores say a "purchase" is your entire order, some consider a "purchase" one single item. You can stop at customer service before you shop to clarify.

Unless the coupon states "one coupon per person"... then of course you can ue the same amount of coupons as you have items. If the cashier fights otherwise, take it up a notch to the store mananger or head office. But always rememebr to be nice. :) A LOT of us have resorted to do this--it not only helps ourselves, but others SCers.. and any consumer out there. :)

Yes, the "one per purchase" phrase...when a cashier is in question, I tell them that it means I can't use more than one coupon for the same item.....and only once have I ended up at customer service....I guess I'm lucky!!

ugg... going to walmart tomorrow with my ziploc coupons... I hope I dont have a hard time with it, I will be getting 20 ziplocs, and a bunch of other freebies. I have also found that the male cashiers are a lot more easy going when it comes to the coupons. I always try to go through a male cashier!

Depends on the coupon or the store. Some coupons say right on it 'Limit (X amount) of like coupons per transaction'. Others say 'Limit one per customer'.

Sometimes cashiers confuse 'purchase' with 'transaction'- which is irritating.

There are times, too, when stores set their own coupon policies. They might say, for example, they will only accept one of each type of coupon per transaction (regardless of what the coupon says).
