On a quest
My name is Michele, I have 1 dog and fish, along with and 4 inherited dogs, a cat and a lovebird. Bless them all, but a zoo is hard work!! I love travelling, reading, movies, quadding and hiking with my dog.
I'm glad to have found such a warm community. Years ago I was big into the freebie hunting with a little bit of couponing. Back then you could score some super freebies. But most companies have felt the influx of the internet and it was getting harder to find great freebies. Not to mention the numerous spam sites that began popping up. I enjoyed it but it took up a lot of my time searching for 'real' giveaways. Eventually I just gave it up.
Move forward to now. I now have a home filled with pets, a boyfriend and a 17 year old stepson who eats none stop. This is a year of challenges for me. One such challenge is to drop my grocery bill from $500 to $350. Including pet food, etc. I need to do this buy combining smart shopping with coupons and cooking. I generally don't buy anything that is not on sale and I love our No Frills store. It has some unbeatable deals. I have always used coupons if they came my way, but I want to expand on that and learn how to better take advantage of them. I don't expect to become Canada's extreme couponer, I just need to use them as a tool in my quest of smart shopping. While the occasional freebie is great and I will certainly be watching out for them, I believe in the long run my time will be better used for shopping smartly.
Too long? Ya probably. I'll stop now.
So in closing I am sure most everyone here is on the same quest. I'm sure I will learn much and hopefully I will be able to share a tidbit or 2. I'm glad I found a great community who shares and relishes in one another's achievments. By doing so we all grow.
