Why keep it up longer though when there is no discussion? Such as page 71 of posts here that are expired over a year ago? Feb. 2010
It is silly to keep expired posts up just because someone might bump it a year or months down the road.
What about stuff that isn't a freebie such as posts for Canada Post or Where can I find a USA freebie site?Last edited by Hoser; Mon, Aug 1st, 2011 at 04:00 PM.

^^There still is a discussion going in in this thread. One person posted just last week that she got it and there are others still waiting.

But isn't that what a chat room is for? Let's say there are 25-30 threads on page one of the freebies here and 15 of them said OVER and there was chat going on in them. Isn't that a lot of skipping and scanning over posts to get to the real freebies posted that are active and what people are looking for?
Things seem inconsistent here and as I said there are posts with no discussion and there are others that there never was an active freebie in.
This is the only site I have seen that keeps things going instead of deleting the dead posts. I know the moderators can't delete here which is odd but the posts can be moved to make it easy so that we can find ACTIVE freebie offers.
I have had many freebie sites and my staff and I deleted dead offers right away. No point in going on about something that is over.
If someone did ask about an offer we would add a sticky to it or move it to the chat room. Moderators could delete posts in sections they were in charge of.
Super Moderators and Admin could delete any posts in any section. On my last site there were 5 of us that could do that.l think Boo Radley is the only one that can delete posts here.
Just because something was always done a certain way doesn't mean that changes and improvement can't be made.

Just an FYI for anyone still hoping to receive the Coppertone bag from the Facebook offer. I received the following correspondence from Coppertone today. I have only one Facebook account, am over the age of majority, and have not moved or changed my mailing address. I also received the email confirmation from Coppertone on May 21st confirming I would be receiving a bag; so if I could just figure out which field I left empty or was unable to correctly fill in so I don't make this error again....
My personal opinion is there was an internal error; maybe less bags than they originally thought. It seems many companies are not prepared for the trememdous response they receive with Facebook offers. Is it just me or do a large majority of the people seem to be from Ontario that did not receive the bag?
Oh well, at least it was just for a beach bag and not a car!
Still enjoying the rest of the summer; with or without this bag!
Hi ,
We truly want to thank you for liking our Coppertone Facebook page!
Your support is very much appreciated!
We have verified your file and we must regretfully inform you that you
will unfortunately not be receiving a Coppertone® Tote bag. We
sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will cause you. The
reason we will be unable to deliver a Tote bag is because one of the
following conditions listed below applies to your entry:
- One or more fields were empty or incomplete when the form was
- The age you entered was under the legal age of maturity in your
province of residence
- Entry that were not submitted correctly or was submitted after the
offer had ended. All bags were given on May 20th and 21st while
quantities lasted; your entry form must have been submitted completely
and correctly while quantities lasted
- Information was submitted incorrectly for one or more fields (ex.:
invalid phone number, postal code, etc.)
- Entries that were submitted multiple times were removed. There was a
limit of one tote bag per address
- Change of address. We can confirm that all Tote Bags were shipped as
of May 25th to the addresses that were entered in the registration
form. We will be unable to complete deliveries when a change has
occurred
We again, apologize for the inconvenience this will cause you
However, all is not lost and SUMMER IS NOT YET OVER!
We hope that you stay tuned to the Coppertone Facebook page as it is
the best place to be to find out about our latest offers and promotions!
Sincerely,
The Coppertone® Canada Team

I starting to think that a lot more people signed up than they had totes and they just picked people at random. I still think if you got a confirmation e-mail you should of gotten the tote. They should of just gotten more totes not blame people for filling the form wrong. I think this promo could have been way better for Coppertone! I haven t bought Coppertone since I got the not so nice e-mail
