Whittled down from 26-thousand submissions from the public, the five finalists are activist Viola Desmond, poet Emily Pauline Johnson, engineer 'Elsie' MacGill, athlete Fanny (Bobbie) Rosenfeld, and suffragette Idola Saint-Jean.

Eric Staal stayed hot against the Maple Leafs. He scored the eventual winner to lead Minnesota past Toronto 3-2. Staal has 47 points in 43 career games against the Leafs.

Interestingly: (Admiral Chester Nimitz said later, "It was God's mercy that our fleet was in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.". Nimitz believed if (Admiral) Kimmel had discovered the Japanese approach, he would have sortied to meet them. With the American carriers absent and Kimmel's battleships at a severe disadvantage to the Japanese carriers, the likely result would have been the sinking of the American battleships at sea in deep water, where they would have been lost forever with tremendous casualties (as many as twenty thousand dead), instead of in Pearl Harbor, where the crews could easily be rescued, and six battleships ultimately raised.
Also : the Americans always fail to mention the oil embargo of Japan and refusing Japanese ships to
transit the Panama canal which would have run the Japanese military out of oil in what they estimated
to be 2 years time.

This gives new meaning to “Papa was a Rolling Stone.” At 73, Mick Jagger is a father for the eighth time with his 29-year-old American ballerina girlfriend, his publicist has confirmed. Melanie Hamrick gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday.
Jagger and Hamrick announced the pregnancy in July. The pair have been dating since 2014.
“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival,” says Jagger’s publicist via a statement. “Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”
December has been an eventful month for Mick Jagger: aside from expanding his family, Mick and the Rolling Stones released Blue & Lonesome, their first studio album in over a decade.
