Political Rivals Jump on Trudeau's Decision to Abandon Electoral Reform
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an unequivocal promise to change the way Canadians vote in federal elections. Then, after winning one, he abandoned it.
That was the narrative his political rivals were building Wednesday after Trudeau officially walked away from his oft-repeated commitment to get rid of the first-past-the-post voting system in time for the 2019 election.

Montreal Funeral Service to be Held For Three Mosque Victims
A funeral service will be held in Montreal today for three of the six men shot to death in a Quebec City mosque. Mayor Denis Coderre says the ceremony, which is expected to begin at 1pm, will be held at the Maurice-Richard Arena for Abdelkrim Hassane, Khaled Belkacemi and Aboubaker Thabti.
There will be prayers for the three other victims, Azzeddine Soufiane, Mamadou Tanou Barry and Ibrahima Barry. A ceremony is expected in Quebec City on Friday.

Ontario's famed groundhog Wiarton Willie takes centre stage for his annual weather forecast. It's Groundhog Day and folklore has it that if the groundhog sees its shadow there will be six more weeks of winter. If the furry critter doesn't see its shadow, then tradition says spring is on the way.
