Sean Spicer’s ‘Joe Trudeau’ latest in list of Trump cabinet flubs

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has slipped up yet again, this time appearing to call the Canadian prime minister “Joe Trudeau” instead of Justin on Tuesday morning. Spicer was speaking to the press Tuesday afternoon when he took a moment to thank Trudeau, who was in Washington on Monday to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. Melissa has some more material.

EU set to approve trade deal with Canada

The European Union's parliament is set to approve a landmark trade deal with Canada, with the bloc's executive extolling the pact as a sign of international co-operation at a time when many political forces, including U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, are trying to halt globalization. Hundreds of protesters were outside the EU parliament building in Strasbourg, France, arguing Tuesday that instead of growth and jobs, such a deal will erode the bloc's environmental, labour and consumer standards.

Leafs Rout Islanders Auston Matthews scored twice and Frederik Andersen won his 100th career game as the Maple Leafs beat the Islanders 7-1 at Air Canada Centre. Andersen made 33 saves.

For singles, Valentine’s day can be a simple and cruel reminder that they are alone. That's why the day after is Singles Awareness Day. It’s a humorous holiday to celebrate being single, to share with single friends, to send each other presents or even order yourself some flowers. On this day many people wear green, as it is the complementary opposite of red. Another popular option is to travel to Brazil and witness the Brazilian Carnival. The trip, coupled with the fact that Brazil doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14, but in June, provides a temporary getaway.

Good morning, everyone. Happy half-price chocolate day!

Hope all is well.

Life has been busy again, of course even getting out of bed takes ages when dealing with a bad cold (I HATE being sick!). Sigh. On the plus side, I'm living with a handsome gentleman who likes to snuggle.

Had some fun at the theatre last night. Always need a bit of Shakespeare to get the blood going (or watch others fall asleep, sheesh). Gotta love a production where Puck rocks out with a fairy band (it wasn't a musical, but with their talents, it would have kept a few folks from napping when the language got a bit archaic).

Light show is still going on in the neighbourhood, and the other day we got to watch bits of a film shoot. Too bad we seem to be the only locals who enjoy these things (brats had a grand time). Sigh. Why do people move to where the action is, then complain about the noise and lights? imho, if you live downtown, you should embrace the concept of living life 24/7...even if (like me!) you don't have energy to do more than 2 or 3 hrs per 7.

Better get ready - have friends coming to the 'hood for lunch (good thing they're not coming over - we're still surrounded by boxes, but at least my furniture is now in its final place and I don't have a china cabinet beside the front door blocking my way anymore). Poor Quincy cat is still annoyed with me that there are lots of boxes, but none suitable for napping.
