Don't know how the weather is in your area, but in the Hamilton region, it is raining cats and dogs with high winds, thunder and lightening.

My satellite dish reception is currently down. Hope this weather passes soon!!

Took a trip to Cambridge, Paris and Brantford this morning and I have never seen the water levels on the Nith and Grand Rivers so high, not even back a few years when the Grand almost flooded out all the communities along it's banks, particularly Cambridge and Caledonia.

I guess that is what happens when you get almost 6 inches of rain falling in the Harriston, Minto and Orangeville areas in a day.

Hope that this is the end of the rain for a while after this weekend.

Strike averted as LCBO, workers reach tentative settlement

Ontarians are breathing a little easier this morning. An LCBO strike seems to have been averted. Officials with OPSEU have confirmed a tentative deal was reached just after today's midnight deadline. Details of the new contract won't be released before union members have a chance to look it over and ratify it. The deal was reached with the help of a mediator who had imposed a media blackout on the contract talks. LCBO workers have been without a contract since March 31st.
