Heat wave continues...

Toronto continues to be blanketed by some pretty extreme temperatures for this time of year. A heat warning remains in effect across the GTA as temperatures will climb to the 31-degree mark this afternoon. The warm temperature record for this day is currently 29 degrees, set back in 1998. With the humidity, today will feel closer to 40. Cooling stations remain open across the city.

Toronto councillor aims to protect commuter parking

The mayor’s executive committee meets later this morning and one of the hot-button issues expected to be debated is parking across the GTA. Ward 10 Councillor James Pasternak is leading the charge, bringing a motion forward calling for the city to stop the loss of any more parking spots at stations like Wilson, where 610 spaces were off-loaded last December. Pasternak claims the city has a commuter parking "crisis" at the moment. He says if the trend continues, commuters will be forced right back into their cars which is exactly what the city doesn’t need.

The NFL continues to create a political buzz state side. During the Monday nighter, even cowboys owner jerry jones took a knee with his players ahead of the star spangled banner. Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes and flipped head over heels into the end zone on a 10-yard run for another and the Dallas Cowboys pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Arizona Cardinals 28-17 on Monday night. Trump continues condemning NFL players who kneel for the national anthem to protest racial inequality.
