3 Canadians among dozens killed in Las Vegas mass shooting

Investigators in Las Vegas are still trying desperately to find a motive following the deadliest mass shooting in American history. Police confirm the shooter, 64-year old Stephen Paddock had no criminal background, was a retired accountant and was a multi-millionaire. We’ve also learned that the Nevada resident had enough guns in possession to man a small army. Investigators believe Paddock was the sole shooter in an attack that left 59 people dead and more than 500 injured. Three Canadians were among the dead in Sunday night’s attack. The latest -- a woman from Jasper, Alberta. Jordan McIldoon of Maple Ridge, B.C., and Jessica Klymchuk of Valleyview, Alberta, were also killed. At least five more Canadians were among the more than 500 injured.

Tom Petty dead: rocker passes away after he was placed on life support

The world has lost yet another musician and one of the last remaining old-school rock stars. Tom Petty has died in hospital after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu. Petty was 66 and was an active musician. He and his long-time band The Heartbreakers had recently completed a 40th anniversary tour, one that he hinted would be his last.
