Mysterious missed calls on cellphones part of world-wide scam

The one-ring scam is back and is catching a new wave of unsuspecting cellphone owners. The calls show up on your phone as a missed call and come from overseas locations like Albania, Macedonia or the Seychelles. According to the Calgary Better Business Bureau (BBB), it’s called the one-ring scam or the Japanese name “Wangiri” – where it started. The call disconnects right away and the people behind it are hoping you call back out of curiosity.

Bermuda becomes first country in world to repeal same-sex marriage

Bermuda has become the first country to legalise and then repeal same-sex marriage, in what critics have called an unprecedented rollback of civil rights by the British island territory. Bermuda’s governor has signed into law a bill reversing the right of gay couples to marry, despite a supreme court ruling last year authorising same-sex marriage. Much of the international community is up in arms over the news but no formal response yet from the Trudeau Liberals.

Leafs hold off Predators

It took 13 shooters but in the end it was J.V.R. rending it for the Leafs. Toronto had a big test and big win, getting by Nashville via shootout, 3-2. The big story was Frederik Andersen, who was solid for the buds, making 44 saves plus another six in the shot out. The Maple Leafs, who have now won six of their last seven are home to the Senators on Saturday.

Reach lift caught on fire the other night at work. 4 brave fire extinguishers were used to put it out. Still had to evacuate building... no coats and walk around whole building. Fire trucks didn't stop to pick us up. Most excitement i've had in years...RIP lift truck #72
