Zuckerberg apologizes for Facebook data scandal, suggests internet regulations

The "face" of Facebook is apologizing and Mark Zuckerberg is even leaving the door open to a potential testimony in front of U.S. congress. Politicians on both sides of the Atlantic have called for Zuckerberg to testify before their legislative bodies in the five days since the Cambridge Analytica scandal erupted. The data firm, which has ties to President Donald Trump's campaign, reportedly accessed information from about 50 million Facebook users without their knowledge. Zuckerberg sat down with CNN and left the door wide open to a congressional hearing and said it might be time for governments to build regulations into the company he helped found. Although Facebook employs a small army of lawyers and lobbyists in Washington, Zuckerberg himself has never testified before a congressional committee.

According to an Angus Reid survey, six Canadian premiers have approval ratings lower than Donald Trump. The only premiers liked by more than half of their constituencies, in fact, were the two rookies. B.C.’s John Horgan and Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe both scored 52 per cent. In case you're wondering where Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne's approval rating came in -- you guessed it; dead last in the country at 19 percent.
