Here are the bands that will be playing at the Q107 Canada Day Picnic. Hope to see you if you go. I always get a place near the front although this year I will be in a wheelchair. It won't be hard to miss me. Don't think I will be dancing too much but possibly a little bit this year.

Finally, it's voting day. We won't have to listen to the stupid commercials about who's going to ruin the province more then the other. They all lie, it's just figuring out who's lying less. It is your duty to vote & it is your right to say your refuse your vote if you don't like any of the candidates. 37,000 did that the last election, but whichever you decide to do, just do it.

Ontario voters head to the polls

Ontario voters head to the polls today as campaigning is officially over. After weeks of it the Conservatives and the New Democrats appear locked in a neck-and-neck race -- about 38-percent support each. PC leader Doug Ford has run a populist campaign, promising to cut gas prices and electricity bills but Global News reporter Jamie Murcaher tells us his opponents have accused him of dodging calls to release a fully costed platform. NDP leader Andrea Horwath, who has consistently polled as the most popular of the three leaders, has presented the election as a choice between her plan to help families and Ford's cost-cutting. Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne conceded last weekend that she won't be returning as premier in the face of polls that consistently showed her party well behind at less than 20-percent support.

Ballot selfies are a thing

Now keep in mind as you head to your voting station today that ballot selfies are a big no-no. Election officials want to remind you that taking a picture of a completed ballot is a violation of the election act because it violates the secrecy of the vote. Voter information cards with details about when and where to vote have been mailed to registered electors. Voters are reminded to bring these cards and one piece of identification to vote. If you don’t have one, don’t worry -- some identification and proof of address will suffice. Polls open at 9am this morning and close at 9pm tonight.
