Toronto Mayor John Tory easily wins re-election
Not only is it a second term for Mayor John Tory but it was an emphatic win. Tory won a historic mandate for the city with 63-percent of the vote in last night’s municipal election. Priority number one for Tory is connecting the city with the suburbs. He also touched on tackling gun crime, affordable housing and public transit.
Elsewhere across the now-25-ward city of Toronto, a number of familiar faces will no longer be at City Hall. 13 incumbents won’t be headed back to their seats inside city chambers including Giorgio Mammolitti, Norm Kelley and Joe Mihevc, who was edged out by Josh Matlow.

Call it a bit of vindication for Patrick Brown in Brampton. The former PC leader was voted in as mayor of the peel region city last night. He edged out incumbent Mayor Linda Jeffery. Brown's political comeback comes 10 months after he was ousted as the provincial PC leader.
