Canada Post rotating strike hits Scarborough distribtion centre

A new round of rotating strikes has been launched by Canada Post workers affecting Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says the latest Ontario operations targeted for job actions are in Scarborough, as well as eight other cities across the province's southwest. Parcel delivery for Toronto downtown north to Newmarket and east to Port Hope will be affected by the latest strike action. Canada Post says the rotating strikes have impacted operations in more than 70 communities across the country, causing backlogs that could delay mail delivery to its customers for several days. What a surprise.

Toronto falls short in quest for 2nd Amazon headquarters: report

Toronto’s chances of becoming the next base of operations for online giant Amazon will likely come up short, if a published report is to be believed. The Washington Post is reporting that the Seattle-based organization is in “advanced talks” to open its second headquarters in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Toronto was one the only Canadian municipality to be included on Amazon’s short list last January and Mayor John Tory has been a frequent and vocal advocate for the bid.

Serge leads Kawhi-less Raptors past Lakers

Serge Ibaka made his first 14 shots on the way to a career-high 34 points, and the Toronto Raptors didn't need an injured Kawhi Leonard in a 121-107 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
