VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --
After several delays, SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket, which carried the cremated remains of about 100 people and 64 satellites into space.
The launch at Vandenberg Air Force Base was postponed Sunday to conduct additional inspections of the second stage, the third time the launch has been delayed.
SpaceX said families paid $2,500 to put a sample of their loved ones ashes on the rocket.
The ashes were onboard four-inch mini-satellites that families will be able to track from Earth using an app.
Falcon 9 also carried 64 satellites -- commercial and government entities from more than 17 countries -- on what's being called a "ridesharing" mission.
The launch is the 19th of the year for the Hawthorne-based company.
That's what i'm talking about...

Ontario government changes rules for pot shops, only 25 stores to open April
Months after saying it would not cap the number of licences for retail pot shops after cannabis was legalized, the provincial government has done a bit of a 180. The Progressive Conservatives now say they will only be able to issue 25 licences by April, given a pot shortage in the province.
In a statement yesterday, the province says it plans to take a ``phased approach'' to authorizing retail cannabis outlets because of what it calls “severe supply shortages”' not just here in Ontario but right across the country. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario will implement a lottery system to determine who is eligible for the initial wave of licences, with the results announced in January.
Did you know?
Nova Scotia is the province with the highest percentage of pot smoking people. Stats Canada says 20% of Nova Scotians 15 or older have smoked pot.
Nearly half of Canadians think paying rent is a waste of money: survey
A new survey suggests a good chunk of Canadians strongly believe rent is a waste of money. A new report by real-estate company Zoo Casa suggests almost half of respondents across the country feel like rent is a waste of money - 46 percent. That, despite the fact many find themselves unable to buy, caught in a catch-22 between high rents and impossible home prices.
The average detached home costs about $1.3 million, according to the Toronto Real Estate Board, while the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is now over $2,000, say figures from market research firm Urbanation.
