Trudeau's Kamloops town hall combative in wake of pipeline protests

Not exactly a smooth town hall for Canada’s prime minister out west. Justin Trudeau's town hall in Kamloops, B.C. was often heated and loud -- several indigenous members of the audience stood up to challenge Trudeau on his pledge for Canada’s reconciliation with First Nations. One woman even accused Trudeau of benefiting from oppressing First Nations people. Trudeau said earlier in the day that Monday’s arrests of 14 people at a pipeline blockade in northern B.C. was "not an ideal situation," but that the rule of law must be respected.

Man threw hot coffee at McDonald's employee after waiting too long in drive-thru

Another 'McHeadache' for McDonalds -- Not long after that video showing a McDonald’s employee defending herself against an angry customer went viral, the food chain is reportedly dealing with yet another incident -- this time in Camden, South Carolina. Police say a McDonald’s patron became angry over the wait for his order and threw hot coffee in the face of a teenage drive-thru worker when he didn't get free fries as compensation. News reports say police have released surveillance video of the man's alleged attack from last month and asked the public for help identifying him.

Hyman is back for Leafs, Andersen is close

The Leafs are back in action tonight with a stop in New Jersey. Michael Hutchinson will start for the Leafs in goal as Freddy Andersen continues to nurse a groin injury. Andersen is expected back in the lineup Saturday against Boston or Monday against Colorado. The good news for the Leafs tonight is that Zack Hyman will return after being sidelined three weeks with an ankle injury.

Boy, I was not aware that Tim Hortons sold burgers before donuts. I do remember my old hockey cards, which are long gone now, with a little cartoon on the back stating that Tim Horton owned his own donut shops.

As far a hockey players go, we'll leave the burgers to John Anderson. Yes, there is still a John Andersons on Dundas Street in Mississauga.. Hmm, its been years... I should go there for old time sake.

Extreme cold weather alert issued for Toronto

It is without question the coldest day of the year, so far. An extreme cold weather alert remains in effect in the city as Toronto residents deal with a wind chill of minus 21°C this morning. The arctic air is expected to continue through the weekend before we see a bit of reprieve next week. By Monday we'll be back to a more seasonal high of minus 2°C.
