    Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. Venus is the brighter of the two. It was cloudy, so this picture isn't the greatest.

    The planets will still be there for several weeks, but they will change positions. Venus will be lower in the sky and Jupiter will be higher as the days go by. This event is called a conjunction because this is the closest they appear in the sky this time around. BTW, this is a morning picture facing southeast.

    Two celestial events in two days! But I have to admit that the lunar eclipse is more exiting than the planetary conjunction.

    1 week from today, I will be in Florida, enjoying the warmer temps, before boarding the boat to sail thru the Panama Canal.
