Happy Monday Q sters,
It's the start of another work week & another 3H day.
Wasn't overly impressed with the Jay's performance yesterday. They made an average pitcher look good. Instead of holding out a bit on some of his pitches, they seemed to swing at everything. Lots of fly & pop up balls, which allowed for 3 up, 3 down situations. They did manage to get 2 hits & a walk.
On a positive note, it seems the injury to Vlad Jr, in Saturday's game is not serious & he should be back to play on Tuesday.
Have a great day.

Happy Tuesday Q sters,
I'm on chicken detail till Friday, this week. The next door neighbours have headed up north till Friday & they asked if i could look after the chickens & guinea pig while they're away. Have to let them out of their coup in the morning, make sure they have water & food, collect the eggs, which i get to keep as payment, then put them back in the coup at night. The guinea pig stays in it's cage, needs food & water. The dog went with them. that should be fun for her.
Have a great day.

Today is............
NATIONAL RADIO DAY
Each year on August 20th, National Radio Day recognizes the great invention of the radio. Celebrate the news, information, music, and stories carried across the airwaves.
Several inventors had a part in the invention of the radio in the late 1800s. Amazingly, not just one person can be credited with its beginning. Each component developed through invention and discovery. As these technologies converged, the radio came to life.
THE CONTRIBUTORS
In the paragraphs that follow, a noted international effort contributed to the conception of the radio. In Germany, the research of Heinrich Hertz proved electricity could be transmitted wirelessly. Elsewhere, the multiple patents of the prolific inventor Nikola Tesla provided the radio with the Tesla coil. Born in Croatia, Tesla also contributed many patents involving alternating current advancing the science and production of numerous inventions. When it comes to the first commercially available wireless, Italian, Guglielmo Marconi receives the honor.

Today also is..................................
NATIONAL CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE DAY
On August 20th, National Chocolate Pecan Pie Day lets you have your chocolate and pie, too! (National Pecan Pie Day is observed each year on July 12th if chocolate isn’t your flavor, but we don’t know anyone like that.)

Good morning fellow Canucks!
I was off work last week. Thank you for your birthday wishes last week as well.
On Sunday we went to a house party and a bunch of us were able to jam. We played 1-1/2 songs then a few raindrops came down followed by a sudden downpour. We had to move the stage under the tent after moving the food and bar around. But we continued for a few hours and everyone had a great time.
Here is a video of us playing just before the rain came. That was the "1" song. The "1/2" song was when the rain came and we had to abruptly stop.

Just as a surgeon was finishing an operation, the patient wakes up and demands to know what is going on.
"I'm about to close," the surgeon says.
The patient grabs his hand and says, "Oh, no you're not! I'll close my own incision."
The doctor hands him the needle and says, "Suture self."

Starman's Tesla completes orbit around the sun
https://media.mnn.com/assets/images/...crop-smart.jpg
The Starman sitting behind the wheel of Elon Musk's original cherry red Tesla Roadster is most certainly living up to his name.
The dummy payload, which caught a ride into space aboard SpaceX's historic launch of its Falcon Heavy rocket in early 2018, has completed his first orbit around the sun.
Though you won't be able to see Starman in the sky the way you can pick out the International Space Station, you can follow along on the Where Is Roadster site, which also offers interesting trivia. For instance, as of this writing, the vehicle has traveled the equivalent of driving all of the world’s roads 33.8 times and the car is getting roughly 6,000 miles per gallon. (The site isn't affiliated with SpaceX or Tesla or even Elon Musk. As the creator of the site says, "I'm just this guy, you know?")
The moment follows the first milestone, when Starman passed beyond the orbit of Mars — a distance of more than 180 million miles from Earth.
In a tweet, SpaceX posted an image of the Roadster, now an artificial satellite of the sun, and its position in relation to the inner planets of the solar system. It's speed? A cool 34,644 miles per hour.
"Starman's current location. Next stop, the restaurant at the end of the universe," they wrote, adding a tongue-in-cheek reference to author Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
Before the famous launch, Musk revealed that instead of the concrete dummy payloads traditionally used by aerospace companies during test flights, he would instead be donating his 2008-model Roadster complete with a mannequin clad in a SpaceX pressure spacesuit.
"Payload will be my midnight cherry Tesla Roadster playing 'Space Oddity'," Musk tweeted. "Destination is Mars orbit. Will be in deep space for a billion years or so if it doesn't blow up on ascent."
To infinity and beyond (well, almost)
A study just after launch by researchers at the University of Toronto said the vehicle will have its next close encounter with Earth in the year 2091. Computer simulations of its orbit millions of years into the future give it fair odds of one day colliding with either Earth or Venus.
"Although we are not able to tell on which planet the car will ultimately end up, we're comfortable saying it won't survive in space for more than a few tens of millions of years," co-author Dan Tamayo said in a statement.
Others are quick to point out that there may not be much left of Starman to destroy when the end finally comes. Much of the vehicle's organic materials — plastics, fabrics, tires, even its cherry-red paint — will, according to Indiana University chemist William Carroll, likely be destroyed relatively quickly by radiation and impacts from small meteoroids.
"Those organics, in that environment, I wouldn't give them a year," he told LiveScience at the time.

- - Ken you need to hire a good roadie like myself to do your sound equalizing
and test your beers to make sure your competition bands
aren't trying to poison you out of jealousy. - -
I have extremely good taste in beer , I mean music.
