Sometimes you just need to hang your head and cry ... and not in a "Cry for Happy" kind of way.
The good news: xrays revealed hand, wrist, arms, shoulder all OK.
The bad news: post op, the IV had been inserted incorrectly.
If we hadn't alerted the staff of a suspected problem - when might they have noticed on their own?Courage is not the absence of fear but acting in spite of it.

Yes, that was where I started. I have 2 phones, which I treid separately. Also tried it with/without the computer pluggie thingie as well...
Phoned myself using the cellphone, and it just rang and rang.
(that's right, no answer, wiseguys)
So it wasn't a phone off the hook...
I couldn't get into the little grey box...no nuts...If I break that little box prying off the cover, I'm sure that I'll be blamed for any/all problems..
A few years ago there was a problem in the same place, and now the 2 wires going into the box don't look too neat: lots of black electrical tape wrapping them just at the box.
So I suspect that the same kind of problem has occurred.
I did an online request for service, since I didn't want to spend a long time on hold with the cellphone.

p.s.- got my s.c. fridge magnet last week. ever cool! lolI can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

. . . A practical example of how the human mind usually works
Be sure to read all the way to the end! You'll be surprised.
Analysis of the above picture can tell us a lot about how different people think.
- For young men, it's a picture of a lady with a nice derriere but only the most observant will notice that she is crossing a street.
- The really observant will notice that she is wearing a thong.
- For older men, she appears to be a respectable woman - with a nice tush - on her way to work.
- The perverts among them will imagine her naked.
- Wiser men will ponder the presence of mind of the photographer to take the shot in the face of such beauty and be grateful that they shared it.
- For half of the women, this is an ordinary woman who should not have left home dressed that way.
- The other half will think she is a slut but wonder where she bought that blouse.
- Older women will imagine the misery that the woman's curves will cause by the time she reaches 50.
- But only children, the extremely intelligent and the celibate will notice that the taxi is being driven by a dog.

This is ridiculously unbelievable. You have to act on this. I'd suggest finding out who is on the hospital board of governers (should be a matter of public record) get hold of the C.O.O. and consider approaching the media, or at least let the hospital know this is being considered.
You have rights including the fact that a fractured hip should be operated on within 48 to, at the most, 72 hours of the break. Consider the unecessary gamma ray exposure from the x-rays that didn't need to have been taken if the proper initial post-op care had been taken with the IV and its unforgivable that no-one could have detected that problem when m-i-l was exhibiting symptoms of a painful wrist.
Here's a couple of contacts I pulled off the web before I started typing. Check if they're both current and you could start there:
Rob Devitt, Toronto East General Hospital CEO and IABC/Toronto Communicator of the Year. (CNW Group/IABC Toronto)
Shelley Darling, Director of Corporate Communications, Planning and Memberships of TEGH, explains, "By quickly determining that the hospital's governance issue stemmed from poor communication, Rob sought to restore trust through a commitment to transparency and managed to prevail where many others had been unsuccessful."
Don't let these clowns get away with their sub-standard care - we're not a 3rd world country dammit

Good Monday evening.... everyone.
Work was nuts today.... I had an invite for a meeting at 4 - 5:30
I was happy as I could do what I wanted as long as my phone was
on speaker and mute....
Unfortunately it was pushed forward to January 9th.
Haven't gone in to see any reps, notes or PMs.... yet..
though I want to thank you very much for thinking of me.
I have repped a bit and will do more shortly.
I realized this am that there was place I missed in Buffalo.
I wanted to purchase Dunkin Donuts coffee in K-Cups for my
Keurig coffeemaker... I kept seeing Tim Hortons but no Dunkin...
I also found out that Starbucks now has their coffee in K cups..
only not in Canada yet....
Will search before I leave home next time.
I know.... if that is my biggest problem I am doing well.....
and you know what? I am !

holy cow, you're kidding. what kind of hospital are they running?! reminds me of the doorknob doctor my sil was seeing with her back pain & all she kept doing was giving her painkillers instead of finding the cause of the problem, by the time she finally got an mri, it was too late. from the news reports, our health care system is suppose to be getting better, not thinking so.
NASCAR SEASON is complete for 2021.
Kyle Larson wins his 1st Nascar Championship.
nascar:a way of life
everything else is just a game

Mechman my friend, my Cowboys collapsed, they did NOT win and Fuimus my friend, I did not go see la Virgin Caridad, but I did try to follow in her charitable ways and she definitely saved me from drowning a few times!
I tried posting some pics, I guess they were too big!
I've been talking to a few of you that are interested in having a weekend getaway here in paradise next summer.
It would be a weekend in August with children and pets more than welcome!
There are volleyball and basketball courts, sauna, man made swimming pond, lazy river tubing or Elora Gorge tubing for the adventurous as well as some of the best fly-fishing in the world!
Of course I will build one of my patented 14' bonfires!
There are 70 acres of camping available and I can always book a barrack or two that sleep about 30 people each should we encounter inclement weather.
There is a small band-shell at the outdoor basketball court where we could have a band or just DJ for a dance.
Cost would be around $10.00 per person for the whole weekend with children and pets ALWAYS having free admission being a children's summer camp! BYOB and food!
If we want to go all out, the main dining hall seats about 200 that we can also use for a dance hall and it has a full commercial kitchen and walk in fridge.
Or go really crazy with a 600 seat outdoor amphitheater for a Battle of the Bands!!!!!
I'm getting more and more into this as I'm typing!
I'll find out which weekends are available and keep you all posted!
If anyone is interested in helping organize, let me know!
Take care everyone, hope you have a GRAND week!Last edited by elmo57; Mon, Dec 12th, 2011 at 08:52 PM.
