Good Afternoon All!

Changed my day at the H.S. to tomorrow instead of today. I walk quite a ways to get there so all the talk about -17 windchills today made me figure it would be a little nicer walk tomorrow, although it's not supposed to be much better. Heading downtown for a little more shopping today.

Christmas card travels for 61 years!



A couple of Texas friends may have invented re-gifting more than 60 years ago.
Acker Hanks, of New Waverly, mailed his next-door neighbour Lee Kelley a Christmas card back in 1950. Kelley mailed it back the following year. And it has gone back and forth ever since, reported the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
Hanks has only ever lived in the area, but Kelley criss-crossed the country as a result of his job with the U.S. Forestry Service.
The card has been to Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Washington, D.C., among others. In recent years, it came from Wisconsin, where Kelley had decided to retire. He has since passed, but his widow continued the tradition with Hanks - until this year, when it came back to Hanks in the return mail.
Inside the card is a list of where the card was sent each year. Hanks now plans to have the letter framed, he told the Telegraph.
"It was just a close friendship," he said. "I always have looked forward to getting the card ... I don't think it'll ever leave me now."

& when there is a contest running, you’ll find that this place gets quite packed,
Most of us do not bite, though some of been known to nip,
Maybe you’ll find that if you join that life on here is quite a pip!
Membership is free & it has no expiration date,
& sometimes we have conversation, in which even you can relate,
We have buffets, & mild mannered jabs that are known to cause a smirk,
You don’t get those full fledged perks if you continue just to lurk,
If you don’t want to join us oh well, don’t say your invite was lost in the mail,
& to all of you SC comrades, into 2012 we all sail!!!

It is a jammy day for me..my brand new Snoopy flannels my Mom gave me..(them and my very own Red Ryder BB gun) Went out and did some groceries and deal shopping yesterday.. today is clean up and rest...if that is possible to do both..lol I'm not back until the forth so i'm going to enjoy some greatly needed r and r
