My boss is on vacation for the next few weeks and she set her out of office notice to contact me while she is away... Last week my boss had a meeting, and the guy that she met with sent her a follow up e-mail (which bounced back with my contact information...) I also met him before the meeting and helped her by signing him into the office for her...

Anyway - I received an e-mail this morning saying "I know this is creepy, but is your husband's name Michael and does he have an uncle Don"? When I told him that was correct, he told me that he is my 1st cousin by marriage... I didn't even recognize his name when I met him last week... His father passed away and his mother married hubby's uncle so this guy's mother's last name is the same as mine... (I've always known her married to Uncle Don so I never knew her maiden name.....)

I guess sometimes it is much less than 6 degrees of separation.... small world...

Hi all. Have not been on since Feb 16th and it took a while to catch up. I had been working every day with no time off for 2 months getting ready for the Chairman of the Board and owners coming in for a visit from China for the first time in our six year history. I have redone the office, the warehouse and built a new storage room. Well I picked them up at the airport on Friday night. They were polite but did not say a lot. Was up Saturday morning for a tour of the city, then lunch at the Pearl Harbor restaurant down on Queens Quay. (This was a great lunch and I will go a again). Off to a few customers then to the office for the tour of the office and warehouse. My boss who has also taken over US division had not seen all the work and other than the painting did not know all this work was done. But the great boss he is pointed out all that had been done and that I have done all the work. In the office we incorporated pictures from china and this showed we accepted the Chinese culture. Then it was off to warehouse, they were amazed and said it was the best looking most organized of all the warehouses worldwide. Then they saw the new storage room. My boss had seen these old doors in a field in China and had them shipped back to use in his house. It ended up he could not use them so I used them for the storage room along with a brand new 7’ shower door that was need but made a great skylight. After that they saw the Tiki bar I build my boss for 50th birthday and the Knottythots the boat. Well after that it was all smiles and handshakes. All the work paid off. Thank night it was dinner and drinks. And I do mean drinks. They are gum bay (bottoms up) with full beers. It was quite a night I seem to have new friends and an invitation to China. And a possible offer to work in Los Angles.
