Good morning, everyone. :)
Had a wonderful time last night! Much thanks to Karl for the VIP experience (good food, good friends, good conversation).
Better go make breakfast for the troops.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. :)
All my repz are in....tough with so few posts over the past few days. Lots enjoying the weekend!
Now to pull some weeds from the garden to earn my keep(& beer).
Glad to hear everyone had fun at the summerbash. I was at the Santana concert, and it was excellent. He played for two and a half hours nonstop. All is hits were performed, as well as some other, less well known songs. He even threw in a cover of Michael Jackson's Stranger in Moscow.
Our seats were excellent (third row on the right side of the stage). I had bought those back in April.
The band was hot! There was one drummer, a percussionist and a conga player, so the beat was loud and heavy. We got treated to two drums solo, one from his wife, and one from the regular drummer. All in all, a great concert that felt more like a big party.
good morning all
Come on wheres the sun I want to play volleyball.

Awsome Night
Glad everyone had a good time at the Q107 bash and Santana. Off to Buckhorn Lake for a few weeks, take care.
What he said!
Karl was the perfect host, making sure everyone had beer tickets and was having a good time. The Rascals were a good Fab Four, first time I've heard a tribute ban play Tomorrow Never Knows. Blushing Brides likewise were very good at the Stones thing. But in my humble (hah!) opinion, and judging by the energy level of the crowd, the Wholigans stole the evening, hands down.
Unbeknownst to them, Roger Daltry was there with Pete Townsend's little brother, watching from the VIP area. We had a chance to chat briefly...

Yes, last night was great, more of you should have come, you don't get free food and drink often (or ever!) at the Sound Academy! Both Karl's and my win included lots of food and drink! There were quite a few of us in the VIP area. The music was fantastic. I was really impressed with the Wholigans. They do a fantastic tribute to the Who, the lead singer really looks and sounds like Roger. They've been around since 1982 but somehow I've never seen them!:surprised: The other bands were great too, lots of Beatles and Stones music! I've seen those bands before but it's always worth seeing them again! All in all a great night - thank you Q107 for putting on so many great shows Plus I was handed a bunch of tickets to Saga and Foot in Cold Water, so if anyone wants one let me know!
