    We had some sad news today... hubby's uncle passed away this afternoon after a short battle with cancer. He was only 60 years young... We went to visit him in the hospital June 27th (his 60th birthday) and he told us that he found out earlier that day that it was cancer for sure..... What a crappy birthday present... He said that they were giving him an option (at that time) to remove his kidney (where the cancer started) and start treatment. If he didn't have the surgery, they were giving him a year... He had a heart attack shortly after and went downhill after that....

    He's in a better place now and not in pain anymore...

    Thanks so much for the condolences...

    I'm worried most about his 23 year old son.... He's an only child from a split marriage and he lived with his dad... His mom has been so wonderful and supportive, but he's not a mature 23 year old... I know that he has lots of family to support him, but.....

    Had another fun night of theatre - Speed the Plow once again. My favourite line - "If you can't summarize the plot in one sentence, it won't fit into the box in the TV Guide".

    Off to try to dry off (I feel like a drowned rat - with the hurricane-like conditions out there, I got soaked to the bone (right through my clothes!). Poor dog took one look at me & ran & hid in her bed. No walks tonight.

    Off to see what happened in SC land.

    I'm very sorry to hear Lee that dreaded "C", it is better to suffer for a shorter term than a longer one though.........hope his son manages through the shock and loss......as well as can be expected

    He's in a better place now and not in pain anymore...
