Just found out there's a Wasaga Blues Fest going on this weekend! Damn, I've already made plans for the ex tomorrow, there's a few bands that I like going to be there too!!! Damn, there's always too many things going on at the same time:yikes: Well, better leave now.......
morning Q sters,
TGIF!
Springsteen tonight for those lucky enough to go.
Congrats to Bill from Pickering for winnin the Rush in NY.
last night at the SA was amazing. never have seen Rik Emmett in concert before, whether with his band or with Triumph, but he IS in incredible form! man! can he play a guitar! there were a few duelling guitar solos between Rik & his other guitar player, Dave. Dave is also an awesome guitar player. Rik sounds the same as if he were still wilth Triumph. He can still hit all those HIGH notes no problem. if you closed your eyes, you could have sworn you were at a Triumph concert. the place was packed as well. it was wall to wall people, singing, cheering & dancing. there was also another member of Triumph sitting in the upper deck, Gil Moore, the drummer. he didn't come up to play, but Rik did make reference to him a few times. i think Gil had blown his ear drums out or has some kind of problem cause everytime Rik or Dave were doing guitar solos, he had his fingers especially when the notes were getting on the high end of the scale. i took a ton of pictures, which hopefully i can get them in my computer tonight. there was a guy behind me asking what type of camera i had, cause the pictures were clear & quite detailed considering i wasn't on the stage this time. the opening act was also good. they were The Lucas Stagg Band, 4 guys that had some great tunes in their repertoire. they had us rocking for 45 minutes before Rik took the stage at 10pm.
it was an awesome show & if you've never seen Triumph or Rik Emmett, he's a MUST see.
oh, BTW, Harrison was giving out Rockin' Blues Festival tickets for Sept 1st with Johnny & Edgar Winters & Rick Derringer! that should be a fun night for those of us who aren't heading north for the long weekend.
Good morning, everyone. :)
Seems like it's a Fri the 13th for someone - a propane tank exploded at 4am at the Ex & blew up a concession stand. I'm guessing a few employees will be having a health & safety meeting today. Thank goodness no one was injured.
Lily dog is lying in the sun, panting, but she's not about to give up her spot to the conniving Quincy. Luckily, the boy is too obsessed with getting into a tiny box to pay any attention. Who needs cable when I've got these 2 entertaining me. :P
Off to do the usual housework. Blech.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. :)
Wishing all my Q-Bee friends a wonderful weekend.
Having an off day so far (just feeling low & uncomfortable) but I have physio soon I'm sure that will perk me up.
Can't wait to get back to normal!!
:) :) :) :)
a little update for you guys-dont know if I told youabout the cgi project I auditioned for a while back. The scenes are filmed and then the backgrounds and elements of the actors are processed with cgi so as to give a cartoony gaphic novel type of feel to the piece. I found out yesterday that I got the role I auditioned for and am filming beginning Sept 1st.I have never done that kind of green screen work so it should be interesting. Also landed a few lines in a short film so that is good, still waiting on the dates for that. The video at Georgian Downs got moved to next wednesday and I am called back for a national fabric refresher spray commercial, wont know till after Sept 7th for that one-we shall see, got my fingers crossed for that one for sure-have a great day!
Morning all!
I don't think I'll ever catch up with what's going on in here. I missed about 5,000 pages of chat. But I'm glad to see that most of the gang is still all here. :sweet:
Good morning all
