Today's Could You Graduate From the Fourth Grade question
Who invented the light bulb?
Although Thomas Edison is the popular answer....let us all be proud Canadians and know the truth!!
Henry Woodward was a Canadian inventor.
On July 24, 1874, Henry Woodward and his partner, Mathew Evans, a hotel keeper, patented an electric light bulb. Woodward was a medical student at the time. Their light bulb comprised a glass tube with a large piece of carbon connected to two wires. They filled the tube with inert nitrogen to get a longer burn life in the filament. Their light bulb was fully effective and sufficiently promising.
The two men had patented it but did not have enough money to develop their invention, so they SOLD their US patent 181,613 to Thomas Edison for US$5,000 ($US 100,000 in 2006 dollars). They also granted Edison an exclusive licence to their equivalent Canadian patent.

congrats on your 25th anniversary Lee. Nice to see that people are still staying together for that many years still.
Just a recap on the weekends boat mishap. the two bodies have both been recovered form the lake one was found Sun about 100 metres from where the crash occured and the other was found across the lake by someone on shore and called it in on a cell phone. Sad day for those families but its nice that they can at least put them to rest and not be worried that they will never find them. The one family lives a few doors down from the guy i travel to work with and the other boat that hit them is also right beside another guy I work with. Small community small world.
