For the first time, last night, I went to see a Classic Album Live performance - no I wasn't the the one that got the Q tix (streetcar instead of limo!). I was quite impressed with the performance. The Dark Side of the Moon performance was great. They recreated the sound effects, background dialogue and interjection of laughter quite faithfully to the album. The lead singer did a great job not only with the sound but also the guitar work. The back up singers were pretty amazing at recreating the vocals for 'The Great Gig In The Sky' ...however they did use three singers to cover off the one vocal by Clare Torry (according to wikipedia this would be accurate representation as the final vocal on the album was a compilation of the three takes that Clare Torry did in the studio session).

For the second set the band performed a number of cuts from The Wall - equally as good. If you get a chance to see these guys perform an album (whether you get tix from Q or not) it's well worth it.

I didn't know what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. They don't make albums/music like that anymore. Quite fitting to see it on the 40th anniversary of the album's release.

I second that emotion! I saw the opposite show, they did all of the Wall and then featured some DSOTM, Animals, Meddle and WYWH in the second set. I've also seen them do Abbey Road, Revolver, Rubber Soul and Night at the Opera (5 guitarists for Brian May and 5 vocalists for Freddy Mercury). No costumes or theatrics, just great music.
