Just back from the S.A. Good show again with Michael. A guy who used to be on here for a bit brought him up a Birthday Cake and he had a few pairs of underwear thrown his way!:yikes:
Next Saturday is Saga and June 1st is the Van Halen Tribute Band - Yankee Rose and Crush - Tribute to Bon Jovi with the Michael White Band!!!:-)
Good Night All!
I know what you mean Berndawg, the other day I was out all day and checked this site to see if anyone had posted the song had been played but they hadn't so I send a message to my daughter to listen for You Can't Always Get What You Want - when I got in a few hours later she said they hadn't played it so I kept listening until 10:30 at night and then noticed Karl had said it had been played at 11 a.m. that morning!!!!!! Heard it today at around 2:30 but didnt' get through!!!!
Well... back from Stratford.
I TOTALLY Enjoyed the Play "Tommy"!!!!!!!!
Our Seats were Excellent - Row H, Exactly Centre.
It is a Visual Spectacular!!!!
The Director Introduced the Play and mentioned that Pete Townsend w*rked with them for a Bit the past few Weeks.
I did not know (before then), but most of the Month that they are Performing the Play is Basically "Fine-Tuning" to Iron out the Bugs before it goes Full Media Mainstream.
The Play... Changes some Details, but the Gist is there.
The Background (Wall) consists of Giant Video Screens (25' or so) along with Various Backdrops.
At the Beginning, there is a Transparent Screen at the Front of the Stage where Projections are also Shown.
This Combination of Background Screens, Front Projections and the Actors in the Centre/Middle gave a Mind-Blowing Sense of "3D"!!!!
The Colours and Lighting are Bright and Captivating.
The Score is Good.
"Play" Good - do not Expect it to Sound like The Who about to Appear on Stage. LOL!!!!
Tommy (Robert Markus) does an Excellent Job... You can almost Picture a Young Roger Daltry (with Short Hair).
I Think I was more Impressed by Mrs. Walker (Tommy's Mother Played by Kira Guloien)!!!!
She is no Ann Margret, but she is a Pretty Red Head who Sings very Well... it was Her Expressions that Captivated me.
You can See the Pain and Sorrow that She Portrays!!!!
The Gypsy (The Acid Queen) was Played by Jewelle Blackman... a Pretty Black Girl who made the Role a little bit her own.
...yet I could Hear her Channeling Tina Turner in the Part.
Over All...
I Thoroughly Enjoyed this Play Version of "Tommy".
For Anyone with Interest in Seeing this Play... I Fully Endorse and Highly Recommend it.
I Give it :top: :top:
THANK You, Q107!!!!!!!!
I'm back from Okinawa, where there were no earthquakes...
