Just got this e-mail - I guess this doggie was found abandoned not released for lack of funds like I heard......whatever it's still very very sad
scared. Abandoned. This is Pawney's story.
Four year old Pawney recently arrived at the Toronto Humane Society from another shelter. She was found alone, wandering around a trailer park. Her little face was torn up - the result of an attack by another dog.
Despite it all, Pawney is a very happy and trusting soul. That's the resilience of animals. Always ready to accept the help and love from people who care. They depend on us to be there for them. The monthly support from members of our Save the Animals Team provide the loyal and continuous support required to make sure dogs like Pawney get the care and medical attention they need. Without government funding, none of this can happen without your support.
Pawney's sweet face was left deformed with part of her mouth and some teeth missing. Her eyes also have ulcers - possibly from the attack. Her face has healed up quite a bit, but when she arrived it was a bit infected and needed some antibiotics. Once her eyes clear up, she gets dental work and is spayed, she will be ready for adoption.
Some of the neediest animals are helped by Save the Animals Team members, animals who have special physical or emotional needs. We make sure they get the medical care, time and attention they need to heal and find their forever home. The Save the Animals Team makes it possible for us to tackle whatever case may come through our doors.
You can make a difference to the lives of dogs like Pawney for less than a dollar a day.
