I got creative and decided to honour a handful of you in a reworking of The Weight - hope you approve and no-one gets offended.

“THE WEIGHT” OF SMARTCANUCKS

Signed into SmartCanucks, it was just about half past bed

I just needed someplace to get my lyrics read.

“Hey sister can you tell me where a man’s mind can be fed?”

She just grinned,sent me a J, “righthere!” was what she said.

Take a rhyme offLoocie

Take a rhyme for free

Get a poem fromLoocie

And… the rhyme itsounds right to me.


Picked up my pen,went lookin’ for a rhyme to write

When I saw Rockie & Alohamom walking side by side

Said,”Hey Rockie, come on let’s go downtown”

He said “I won’t go;but my friend can act the clown”


(Repeat chorus)

Slow down Ms. Heartgirl, you’ll give yourself a pain

It’s just old Spartacus whose computer’s acting up again.

Well Spartacus what about that gal Hteam?

She said “Do me a favour man, won’t you stay and fix Hteam’s company”


(Repeat chorus)

Crazy Jester collared me as I climbed down off my hog.

He said “I’ll fix your allergies just like my Baxter dog”

Said “Wait a minute Jester, you do know that I’m a man”

He said “That’s okay and I’ll fix Wolfie when I can”


(Repeat chorus)

Caught up to Knottythots who’d finished his boat with pride

He said the bow was sinking low; but we’d sail around high tide.

Let’s get back to Miss Loocie; you know she’s the only one

Who comes on here with poems for everyone.

The Jester is one of those guys who walks on the upbeat side of town,
Helps keep Smart Canucks going; you can't keep a good Jester down,
I love the lines about Rockie & the enchanting Aloha-Mum!
He even mentioned Margarita-Heartgirl; I wonder if she likes rum?
Spartacus was gone for a bit, but her computer problems have been solved,
With all the wonderful people on here, it's not surprise how we have evolved,
Knottythots & his boat how can one not be impressed?
When HTeam comes to visit, I can't help but feel glad that she is here,
& so many of you SC-er's keep me coming back & it is year after year!
Wolfie you inspire with your respect-a-bil-ity that doesn't miss a beat,
& don't you all think that our dear Jester deserves to be Admiral of this Fleet?

Made it down to the Exhibition Grounds to see Plantnum Blonde - They did a really good show - "Cryin" - Standing in the Dark, Doesn't Really Matter etc etc. It was actually at the CHIN picnic - don't know what they were doing in the middle of all that but they did a good show!!! Spent the rest of the afternoon down there and just finished dinner. Been running around since 8:30 a.m. so I think it's time to watch an Alien Movie that's been sitting around for a while!!!!...
