You really need to have the stones for nude sunbathing https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...34372561_n.jpg

Well it was back in the year 1983,
When I was a much younger & svelte Silly Loocie,
I worked the Molson Beer Tent at the exhibition,
Where making some big bucks was my only mission,
The bands were presented by the folks at the “Q”,
Memorable acts with careers to pursue,
On balmy August evenings for me the echo still rings,
Bands like Parachute Club, Blue Peter, The Lincolns & The Kings,
Our hosts from the “Q’ would set the mood,
In particular that fellow we know as the Scruff dude,
He hosted those bands night after night,
& there was always a crowd that was ripe to ignite,
One of those evenings as it was getting late,
It seemed that Mr. Scruff wasn’t walking so straight,
He spilled his beer on Loocie’s top,
& offered to give me his own shirt to swap,
He was quite a chap & a bit of a card,
& I really do know that he worked very hard,
Those were the days when the Ex still had the magic,
For me the ex now is just a little bit tragic,
No flyer, Shell Tower, alpine cars or grandstand,
If you could only hold memories in the palm of your hand!
The dance of life has moved us all on,
& I’d like to thank Scruff cause he really shone,
Well this story wasn't mushy or even a bit juicy,
Just one of the smiling moments in the life of Silly Loocie.

p.s I am a little bit more inclined to give the CNE a thumbs up now. I would truly like to go back for a visit. I missed it last year & won't be going this year, but maybe next year. The pictures are scans of postcards from my collection. I have many postcards from the last 50 years of life in T.O. I'm going to either collage them & frame them or Kijiji them.
Oh Loocie! I LOVED Scruff Connors-he was just such a character-so cool that you met him, and almost swaped shirts too!
Heading down to the CNE now. Nice poem Loocie - you worked the Molson Tent!!! They still have lots of great music there, one of the things I love about the CNE. I've always enjoyed going - still find lots to do and between the Bandshell and the Molson tent there's always lots of great music. I used to hang out there alot as a teen too. p.s. the alpine way is there this year only I don't think it goes quite as far because of the zipline (I don't know I'll look at it better today)
Have a good one all and enjoy the concert H team!
