Hi
I read the story and thought it should be posted.
Hi,
According to the Billings Gazette, Judge Baugh argued that the 14-year-old victim of rape in this case was "older than her chronological age" and "as much in control of the situation" as her 49-year-old rapist. In doing so, Baugh places the responsibility for the situation on a troubled child -- one who committed suicide just two years later -- and excuses the criminal actions of an adult who violated the ethical standards and trust of his community. Baugh has engaged in the worst kind of victim shaming, while increasing the possibility that more child predators, relying on the laxity of a judge who more readily sympathizes with the abuser than the abused, will prey on other children in the future. For the safety of our community, and the sake of sexual abuse victims whose confidence Baugh has lost, we ask that he resign from his public position as district court judge.
[We would like to note that this petition is in no way a referendum on Judge Baugh's character; we merely seek appropriate action in light of a decision that hurts victims and our community. Please keep all petition comments appropriate and respectful.]
That's why I signed a petition to Judge G. Todd Baugh, District Court Judge, which says:
"On August 26, 2013, Judge G. Todd Baugh sentenced former senior high school teacher Stacey Rambold to just 30 days in prison for the repeated rape of a 14-year-old student. In response to the local and national outrage over Baugh's victim-shaming and willingness to excuse the behavior of the defendant, we petition that Judge Baugh resign from his position as district court judge."

Romeo and heartgirl speaking in tongues? I believe the words have something to do with Sinead and something that would benefit from an application of calamine lotion?
Today is Chop Suey Day. So, your problems with what are you going to have for lunch are solved. For your consideraton a song from The Flower Drum Song. I've seen that movie several times & would recommend it for anyone who wants a reprieve from Toothpaste Wars, Greater-than-less-then Race, CSI-KFC, Restaurant Rodeo, Debit Card Divas, Botox This!...etc.

Some interesting music trivia that I didn't know about satchel mouth Grandson of slaves, a boy was born in a poor neighborhood of New Orleans, known as the "Back of Town".
His father abandoned the family when the child was an infant. His mother became a prostitute and the boy and his sister had to live with their grandmother. Early in life, he proved to be gifted for music and, with three other kids, he sang in the streets of New Orleans and his first gains were the coins that were thrown to them.
A Jewish family, Karnovsky, who had immigrated from Lithuania to the USA, had pity for the 7-year-old boy and brought him into their home. Initially given 'work' in the House, to feed this hungry child. Then he remained and slept in this Jewish family where, for the first time in his life, he was treated with kindness and tenderness. When he went to bed, Mrs. Karnovsky sang him a Russian Lullaby that he would sing with her.
Later, he learned to sing and play several Russian and Jewish songs . Over time, this boy became the adopted son of this family. The Karnovskys gave him money to buy his first trumpet; as was the custom in the Jewish families, they sincerely admired his musical talent. Later, when he became a professional musician and composer, he used these Jewish melodies in compositions, such as St. James Infirmary and Go down, Moses.
The little black boy grew up and wrote a book about this Jewish family who had adopted him in 1907. In memory of this family and until the end of his life, he wore a star of David and he said that it is in this family that he had learned "how to live real life and determination. ''
This little boy was called Louis Armstrong.

Happy Thirsty Thursday
the Kim & Sammy concert was amazing. totally loved it. had debated about driving in, but when i heard there was an accident on the QEW at Mississauga rd, decided to take the GO in instead. that was a good choice. i took my nylon jacket & umbrella with me, just in case it rained. another good decision, cause it started pouring when i was on the train. people were running for cover at the EX when i arrived. by the time i had walked over to Ontario Place, my shoes & socks were soaked thru, as well as the lower part of my pants. they wouldn't open the gates to Ont Place until 7:30pm, so everyone was standing under trees or whatever shelter they could find. when the gates finally opened, the downpour had finally stopped & everyone filed into the theater. 8pm Flairboy came out & introduced Kim. Kim got the crowd warmed up with songs from Max Webster & his solo work. they did everyone's fav-Patio Lanterns, Battle scar, All We Are, I am a Wild Party, Go for Soda, Lager & Ale & bunch of others. Peter did a good job of doing Geddy's part in Battle Scar. during the break, i met KT & his lovely wife. he was trying to get a pic of us together & ended up clicking the off button. a girl noticed this & sent her friend over to take the pic of us. Sammy came out & he was so energetic, bouncing & hopping all over the stage. he started off with some early solo work, then did some Montrose, Bad Motor Scooter, some more of his solo work, I Can't Drive 55, then got into the VH songs, bringing out M I K E Y to do the bass on the VH songs. his regular bassist, Mona was doing the rest of the percussion, cow bell, tambourine etc during this time & then finished with some solo work. he did his encore with some new material from his new album, coming out Sept 24th. he had a smiley ball going thru the crowd & shot off a confetti canyon as well. everyone was on their feet just a rockin'. when the concert was over, the rain had restarted again, but it was pouring like earlier. didn't get as wet on the way home. it was a great show & enjoyed meeting KT & his wife.
Sammy played this tuesday night. sigh.
