Hi Everyone! Well, I made it through today - tired as hell though as I mentioned!!! The Humane Society had a bit of good news as Kit and Kaboodle - a nice couple of 7 year old puds who were "dropped" off there around 4 weeks ago found a home the other day - Yeah!!!! - and Molly a pretty thing with a bit of attitude found her place but alas there are still of course quite a few nice ones still looking and hoping for their second chance. Seen a few cute kittens being adopted - let's hope it is a furrever home they are going to!!!!

This guy by the name of Elvis has been there far, far too long and he's really nice............one can never figure out what causes some to stay longer and some to go faster but all I know is if they had a good home to begin with they wouldn't be in the situation they are now!!!!

Went and heard Steven Page from the Barenaked Ladies fame talk about his new TV show about food which is coming up shortly. Interesting and free so what the hey!!!

Saw a Great Movie Premiere tonight courtesy of GMAN and his better half: "12 Years a Slave"

12 Years a Slave is a 2013 British-American historical drama film based on the 1853 autobiography Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, a free black man who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C., after being lured from Saratoga Springs, New York, in 1841 and sold into slavery. He worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana for 12 years before his release. The first scholarly edition of Northup's memoir, co-edited by Sue Eakin and Joseph Logsdon^[3] in 1968,^[4] carefully retraced and validated his account, finding it to be remarkably accurate.^[5] The film is directed by Steve McQueen and written by John Ridley. Chiwetel Ejioforstars as Solomon Northup. 12 Years a Slave premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on August 30, 2013. The film is scheduled to have a limited release in the United States on October 18, 2013 with a nationwide release on November 1, 2013.^[6]
