I heard about a 14 year old 6th grade student in Pittsburgh, who came up with a mega-money saving concept for his school - during a project for a science fair. He worked out that by changing the font to Garamond from conventional Times new Roman -that the savings on printer ink would amount to $21,000 per year. He went on to extrapolate that if the federal US government adopted the change their annual savings would be $136 million and a further $234 million per year if adopted by state governments too.
