Many ideas spring to mind, depending on where you're going to be. Let me know your time frame and where you're landing and we'll plot you some great possibilities that don't involve royalty! I'll definitely recommend your journey north goes through the Lake District (the kween has a request from Grasmere up there and that is their local gingerbread - she will pay you). We also stayed overnight at 12th century Langley Castle in Northumberland which was out of this world. Just north of there is Hadrian's Wall; but we never got north of there and is on our own bucket list. Cornwall in the southwest is beautiful with many quaint fishing villages nestled among craggy coves and dramatic cliffs - avoid Newquay as it is the most popular and most touristy. Nottingham has a fun deal with a mock trial that you take part in and the tour of the old cells is quite something. If you're in London you must do the "Small car, big city tour" they drive you around in authentic Austin Mini Coopers and show and tell all the favourite sites. These are just random pix that spring to mind and we can give you more specifics on anything else that strikes your fancy. I'm already envious of your trip

Ashbridges Bay would probably be a very good choice. It would be really nice to be down by the Lake too. For me (purely for personal reasons) it would probably be the most practical.
Even if it is just a bring your own sandwich kind of thing, that would work too.
Bring on summer!

On May 15th, Tim Hortons celebrated their 50th birthday in true Throwback Thursday style by recreating their first ever restaurant at Yonge and Dundas Square in Toronto. For those who joined them, what a hoot. For those who couldn't attend, what actually happened? Here's a video that shows a peek into the past. See how they celebrated #Tims50th and shared the memories....

When I lived in Tobago W.I. the best sandwich was a flying fish sandwich. KFC owned the movie theatre so I had chicken, fries and flying fish and a beer while watching Samuel L. Jackson playing SHAFT instead of popcorn and a soda. What an awesome experience. Never to be forgotten.

The thinking of tents ECAT is because the people who are driving can't drink and party. So that means only some people can party and some can't, what fun is that. You don't drive so you don't think about it.

The Q Canada party was good last year, tough to get out of though.
Think I may consider parking in Scarborough and taking the TTC in and out this year.
With that on again at Woodbine, why not another venue for our picnic?
We essentially are planning two picnics now!
And KT trip to plan too!
Lot of pressure...
Scotland is beautiful.
Distiller tour(s) in the highlands.
Castles galore, every castle way has at least two decent pubs.
(green and orange)
Pub food is the best!
Personally I like Glasgow a lot more than Edinburgh, but you have to see both.
I like to stay in Kelvin Grove in Glasgow. Nice vib! Decent car access in and out of town and a great drive north.
Stirling has to be a touring stop.
Goose bumps the entire time visiting the battle sites.
Walking a few holes on the old course at St Andrews is pretty special, going down to the beech and freezin' your toes is fun too!
Topped with a lunch at the Pub on the 17th hole makes a day of it, hotel is right there too!

Its easy to spend half a day just wandering about town.
I know you have family on the west coast.
The Red Lion Inn, The Cross Prestwick KA9 1AJ
Birth Place of "The Open Championship" in 1856, not played until 1860.

Just for something different.
Here are some more cools spots, I`ve been to at least half of them.
