odd to remember when i had a crush on lorraine,
and sort of extra weird to see an ex in the choir, eeekkk.
i may never know what really happens to a persons soul/energy
when their body can't go on - but i know a few days after
my mom died i saw a rainbow in the middle of the day,
there was not a cloud in the sky, and on that day her 2nd granddaughter was born :)
Good morning!
Happy Monday
Enjoy your day!
Cheers

I'm a news junkie too, but that definitely beats watching food shows all day.
The standard story is that early newspapers often had a compass symbol in the masthead, and that 'news' represents 'North East West South'. I don't buy into that, since clockwise would be NESW, anticlockwise would be NWSE and reading left to right would be NWES. I would tend to favour the view that it came from the French 'Nouvelles' or the German 'Neues' as a direct translation, especially since news predates newspapers by many centuries.
morning Q sters,
a lovely sunny, but chilly day. waiting for tomorrows heat wave.
thanx for the trivia answers & reps.
forgot that kenrod was in NYC for the Doobie's concert. heard derringer read his letter on the air this morning. apparently he & the wife had a great time, dispite the weather.

Now, on the serious side.
As with every disastrous event that takes place these days, some will
use it as an opportunity to swindle people out of money by using phony disaster relief scams.

You can read the news in printed form,
Check the sports pages or track the latest storm,
You can read about people & you can read about places,
You can read about events & pending court cases,
You can check for dates & times to catch a show,
Or read about far away places that you'd like to go,
You can read someone's opinion that they sometimes impose,
You could read about the Blue Jays & how they're missing the throws,
You can hear it on the radio or watch it on the TV,
Some folks like live feeds that they can see,
News is an ever changing thing,
& it's not always the kind to make you sing,
Remember to take the news for what it is,
As sometimes it's embellished to give it more fizz.

Good morning all. Some rain yesterday! A golf course behind me is totally flooded. Can see only the s on a few holes! Have pictures to post when I return. Many local roads closed do to flooding or bridge wash outs. On road closed yesterday 2-3 hours after I drove on it. Fast rising waters. Nice & sunny today & for the rest of the week. Hiking trails closed until tomorrow. Will have to hang out at the 19th hole...above water levels!
