Also, I didn't tell anyone, except you guys on Smart Canucks. So at home I kept on with my regular routine like going to my smoking room after dinner without lighting up, etc. It took my family about week to figure it out. The only reason not to tell anyone is that in case I fell off the wagon, I didn't want to hear patronizing remarks or lectures from anyone.

Also, for about a month, I kept an open pack of smokes in my coat pocket, just in case. For those times when I got the craving, I would put my hand in my pocket and a few seconds later the craving went away. I guess the psychology for that was I could have one later if I really needed it. By the time I got rid of the open pack, the smokes were crunchy and stale... very unappealing.

I still love the smell. There are times where I would stand in front of a Wal-Mart beside a smoker and breathe in the second had smoke (I know it sounds creepy). But I have haven't had one now for almost two years.

But first, you really have to want to quit.

This was not a lecture or anything. It is what I did to get through it and it really wasn't that bad for me.
Wow... you had a lot of willpower Kenrod!

None of my family smoked, so I quite while on vacation at the boat with no smokers around. I could never be around cigarettes because I knew that the minute I had that first puff, I'd be hooked again. I used "Ziban" to help me quit.

You are absolutely right though... you need to be mentally ready to quit and I knew that I had to do it in the year 2000....

    True...
What Helped me was "tapping or flicking the ash" off of an Imaginary cigarette. Something I did after taking a drag.

2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees
With the induction of Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple and Steve Miller -- along with relative rookies N.W.A -- as its class of 2016, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is bringing some pre-holiday joy to fans who have felt those acts have been slighted and deserving recognition sooner than this.

The five acts, along with other honorees to be announced later, will be feted at the 31st annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
NASCAR SEASON is complete for 2021.
Kyle Larson wins his 1st Nascar Championship.

Still surprised that The Smiths, Joy Division, New Order, Roxy Music and Depeche Mode are not in RnR HOF! I love Cheap Trick, but are they legends?? No way! Is Live at Budokan one of the great albums? Yes, but the band still is not HOF worthy!

Some people have a very narrow definition of rock and roll, many of those bands don't fit their definition.
Look at the Q's definition of 'classic rock'.
