Sounds like a nice gathering for your dad Spart!
Nice sunny day. Just finished going out for brunch with my daughter, we will continue walking downtown and out for dinner later on.
Congrats on your win h-team.

Well it's a very nice afternoon out there. I am so looking forward to Springtime blossoms. Like my tree. I just wish the colours would stick around for longer.

Good afternoon. We went to see Gowan last night. I spent a lot of my youth in bars and the one in Richmond Hill was the Blackhawk.Could not tell you how many times I saw the band Rhinegold but it was a lot. That’s when I first saw Gowan as he was the singer. When he left the band we followed his career thought the eighties and into the nineties. Some I liked and some I didn’t. My taste was always a little to right, towards the heavier rock, though with my love of Genesis and Tull I did like the classical added in. So as Gowan drifted toward more pop rock I drifted away. Last night concert for me was kind of the same, some I loved and some I liked. But if you’re a diehard Gowan fan you should really love the show. He was in great voice and had a very good band (drummer from Styx, lead guitars from Lady Gaga). We really lucked out as we were six row center and the seats beside both of us were empty. Enjoy the show on Friday
Spartacus – glad it was great celebration of the life of your dad.
Oh Loocie... I have a tree like that one. Last year it bloomed only a little bit, and my fall harvest was not too bad.
Two years ago my crap apple tree blossomed like yours and I had a never ending harvest. All over the lawn, my driveway and the sidewalk. My son and I had to get out our snow shovels every night to shovel all the apples into the brown bags. Brooms and rakes don't work well with those little beasties. I am afraid that my neighbours will slip on the apple sauce on the sidewalk and sue me.
From late August to well into October, my neighbours were teasing us because they thought we were practicing to shovel snow. Anyhow, here is a picture of my tree.

Yup, the tree is pretty for a week or two in May, and the street smells nice, but the rest of the year the tree is a mess.
One other thing, I can't chop down the tree because most of the trees you see in the background were chopped down by the City of Brampton. They were all damaged by that ice storm a couple of years ago.
Knottythots,
Thank you for your review and pictures of the Gowan show.
Thanx for the review & pics, KT.
Lee & I saw him a couple of years ago & he had a broken foot. His cast was made up like his other shoe, so you didn't notice it, but he wasn't all over the stage like he normally does. The 2nd half of the show, he had his kilt on.
Alcohol abuse!
RIP Beer.

I too followed his early Rhinegold career in London and Toronto area clubs and his talent was obvious.
His 4 part show was Beatle covers; Elton John covers; comic book characters and original material for his last set. Not sure if those sets were the same when you followed him.
