Ontario Won't Phase Out Natural Gas For Home Heating

Premier Kathleen Wynne said Thursday that Ontario won't ban the use of natural gas for home heating as part of its climate change action plan. The plan hasn't been released yet, but the Liberals had been coy about details ever since a published report based on a leaked draft copy said the province would phase out fossil fuels for home heating.

Penguins Will Meet Lightning in Stanley Cup Final

For the first time since 2009, his Pittsburgh Penguins are going to the Stanley Cup Final, thanks to a 2-1 victory over the defending Eastern Conference champion Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 7. Pittsburgh’s victory sets up a star-studded Stanley Cup Final between the Penguins and the Western Conference champion San Jose Sharks, who disposed of the St. Louis Blues in six games.

Toronto Raptors, Blue Jays, Marlies All Host Big Games on Friday

If you’re planning to spend Friday night downtown Toronto, leave yourself plenty of time! The Raptors' must-win Game 6 at the Air Canada Centre will be the hottest ticket in town, with some 20,000 people inside the arena and thousands more expected to pack Jurassic Park outside. Not far away, some 50,000 more fans will watch the Blue Jays battle the Boston Red Sox at the Rogers Centre. And farther west, the Toronto Marlies need a win at home to stay alive in the AHL Eastern Conference final.
